Here's some useful info from the floor rules. Most of this is the same/similar as it was in CE, but we could all use a refresher every now and then.

Your opponent has to have matching sleeves that are devoid of any markings/inconsistencies/scratches. You as a player have the RIGHT to request him to replace the sleeves. If he doesn't, you have the RIGHT to call a judge for it. The judge may require them to switch sleeves, or the player is DQ'd. Same with playmats. Your playmat cannot be distracting or have card art that mimicks card fronts/backs on it. You have the RIGHT to request your opponent to not use said playmat. He must abide. As far as deckbackers go, all of the cards used as deckbackers must not be legal in the current set, they must all have the exact same expansion, rarity, and art as one another. They also must not have similar art to a legal card (for example, using matsu gohei deckbackers, since he has a "soul of" that IS legal and has the same art). Your opponent has the right to ask you to not use your deckbackers, if there is suspicion of ANY sort of marking. You may appeal this to a judge, who has the final say. If the judge says so, you are required to re-sleeve your deck in OPAQUE sleeves. For this reason, if you are using deckbackers, you should also carry a set of opaque sleeves with you just in case.

In regards to proxy cards (and this is VERY important going into EE)

Proxy Cards
There are a variety of cards that create various types of created cards. These are defined as cards that are created and placed into play by another card (such as Kyuden Hida Experienced). If a player requires 3 or more separate, distinct created cards (such as a follower, and two different types of created personalities, such as the one created from the cards ‘Recruitment Officer’ and ‘Kitsune Denhei’) then they are required to use Proxies representing these created cards and they must be explicit in their stats, text, and any other relevant information that is required of a non-created card in the state of the game. While fans may create their own set of Proxy cards to be used as part of a theme deck or storyline, when possible, AEG urges players to use the Proxy cards that are provided throughout the Emperor Edition booster packs, as they are precise copies of the created cards from the Emperor Edition arc. Using printed copies of these Proxies is perfectly acceptable; however they need to be legible.

Basically, what the important bit is that you are required to use physical printed out cards for tokens if you have 3 different kinds of tokens in the deck. So, lets say you have a KH exp follower token, a Nakanu Technique Token, and a Recruitment Officer token. They must all be represented by not only different types of tokens, but the tokens used MUST represent, VISUALLY, what they are a token of. So, the KH follower must SAY "Kyuden Hida Follower", it must reflect "0 force" and it must reflect all relevant text. Gone are the days that a colored bead could be one kind of token, a dice another, and a penny another. You are REQUIRED to have printed out proxies for your tokens. DONT FORGET TO DO THIS. THIS WOULD BE A REALLY LAME WAY TO GET DQ'd from an event!

~~~
Regarding spectating. If you are still an active player in the tournament (meaning you have not dropped) you are, by default, NOT allowed to spectate on a game. It is the TO's decision to override this, but if the TO has not specifically stated that spectating is alright, then you should not do it. Just walk away from the play area after a game is done. You can chat with your friends about how their games went after the round is finished.
In the event that spectating is allowed (or in the event that you are no longer an active player in the tournament), you are still not allowed to make ANY sort of comment or sound in response to any action taken, EVEN AN ILLEGAL one.
~~~

You have the RIGHT to not allow "undo's" or "mistakes". If your opponent forgot to do something from a previous phase, you have no obligation to allow it, REGARDLESS of the circumstances. You can respectfully advise them that you are sorry, but it is a tournament and that player error is a factor in the outcome of a game.

In the event that an ILLEGAL play was made, then it is the RESPONSIBILITY of both players to try to correct the error as long as 1) No subsequent plays would be impacted (like the outcome of a battle, or a personality being destroyed, etc), AND 2) no more than one full turn has passed. So, for example, if an event says that a player "must" draw an additional card at the end of his turn, and he forgets to and you are in your limited phase, then you have the responsibility of letting him know that he must draw the card. And he has to do it, since that would not have had an impact on subsequent actions. In the event that there is a "grey area" about whether a subsequent play was effected, then a judge has final arbitration. In the event that your opponent has had multiple illegal plays in the same game, you have the RIGHT as a player to inform a judge, who may issue the player a warning.

~~~
If you feel your opponent is stalling, you have the right to request a judge to watch the game. Just be polite about it and tell the other player that you want to ensure that the outcome of the game is fair and correct. If the judge feels that a player is taking too long to take action, the judge may request the stalling player to move faster. If the player is taking more than 20-30 seconds per game decision, the judge may then award the game to the opposing player.
Also, do NOT leave your seat OR be late to a match. If the match goes to time and you were away from your seat for ANY amount of time for that match, the match is automatically given to your opponent. You have the right to inform a judge if such a case occurs.
~~~

Shuffling
After any time a player's deck is shuffled (either before or during a game), the opponent may shuffle it further before play resumes. This further shuffle may be used to rearrange the cards in any order provided it is done without seeing the card faces. If the player desires, he or she can request that a judge or tournament official perform the shuffle instead of the opponent. The player may not rearrange the deck in any way between this further shuffle and resuming the game.

~~~
Offering prizes to better your final placement in the tournament at any stage of the tournament before you have acquired them is strictly forbidden and is considered bribery. This includes monetary bounties and any other physical prizes.
What this means is that you are 4-2, your opponent is 5-1, and you ask him to concede to you if you give him your packs for making the cut is bribery and you WILL be DQ'd. Also, in the event of a finals match, For example, if there is a $1,000 bounty for your clan to win, and you offer half of that bounty to your opponent (who is not playing said clan) if he concedes to you, that is also bribery and you will be DQ'd. Don't do this.
~~~

Mechanical Cheating
Refers to illegal actions and tricks as opposed to illegal card plays. It includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
 Drawing extra cards.
 Drawing cards from illegitimate locations.
 Arranging the cards in one's deck, such as by deliberate stacking or incomplete shuffling.
 Changing a marker that is tracking a game state (family honor, negative chi token, etc.) when not called for by the game.
 Illegally looking at the faces of any cards that have not yet been revealed.
 Playing with cards that are discernable from the reverse side, for example, due to distinct patterns of wear, unique card sleeve variances, or a deliberate orientation of the cards back.
 Placing one's card hand below the level of the table.
 Adding cards to or changing cards in your deck.
 Acquiring illegal information about cards in an opponent's hand or deck.

This list is important, because mechanical cheating is never awarded a "warning". It is an automatic DQ. So.. don't do these things.

To be honest I am surprised about the 'bribe' thing. The other rules make sense, but asking a player to back down for the sake of you claiming the prize for your Clan, and in return you give them the winnings? That's a normal trade I have seen occur between Legend of the Five Rings players for YEARS. It never has seemed to be an issue before, and in fact has sometimes led to the person who stepped down to have been included in the win in the story as an assist.

That said, I will respect the rules, I just find it flies in the face of what has come to be an acceptable trade. scratch

Agreed, I think that certain aspects of this ruin possible story prizes.

i believe there was a 2/2 unaligned yojimbo token in CE,

if not i think most reasonable opponents will accept any 2/2 personality unsleeved, you can prob even write over it and put "Token" or whatever.

Plus i don't see a real issue with recruitment officer 'cause those go away after battle anyway

the "Token" rules are decent loose. any "Printed" Token that has the Proper stats will be fine, and In the Artist thread on the AEG forums there are a ton of Custom designed Tokens. if what you need doesn't exist there, then a simple request generally yields results within the day.
