Should I buy a set? Or is it not great?

It is amazingly good, but I have a feeling it will get replaced in a set or two. I think for certain Scorpion decks it may be good all arc, but I forsee better cards on the horizon.

I imagine that they will give us more reason to run traditional gold schemes soon as well.

So basically, only if you can get them cheap enough.

Do you think 18 dollars for a set is good?

Probably a bit high still, I'm not sure if Mantis even needs it to be honest. The Kalami's Landing decks I've seen don't run it, and I think the ranged attack 2 for 2 holding is enough of a reason to run a different gold scheme with the scouts stronghold.

The main reason I would run it would be to retrieve tempo lost from going second to high honor clans, and Mantis is in a good way to get it back in other ways. Especially after TSE.

I want some for Crab since it puts them out of Retribution range, but I'll wait til the price drops. Plus $32 more bucks and we can split an EoW box...
