It's a 4 gold for 3, replaces the standard border village in crane, not so much in mantis. Mantis never ran barley farm I don't believe did they?

for crane its 4 for 3, it makes dockside market 3 for 4
for mantis its 4 for 3, 4 for 4 with guidance. normal mantis doesn't run barley farms, but for AV a barley farm mechanic would smooth out the gold curve a ton due to the large # of odd gold costs.
I would say it is a great card for dragon as well, due to their clunky gold curve. I was forced to run barley farms in my lsc and kensai.

It MAY see play this arc due to the dockside combo, but mantis would much rather run border village since 80% of the time it's making 4.
Now, in EE, in the beginning of the arc when there arent multiple options for "4 for 3" holdings for the higher honor clans, this will see play. I imagine Dragon, Phoenix, and Crane will run this over border village (if border village even gets reprinted!) in the beginning of the new arc.

You would need to increase the number of holdings your running to 16-17 if you intend to run both Dockside and Seaside as it increases the chance of bad turn 1 flips.
I dislike that this is rare as most players are going to want a play-set just in case our current 4g holdings don't make it into EE. The fact that this card may be a staple to many clan's gold scheme's and is in a set that will be out of print in 8 months is retarded.

Agreed on both points. Everyone is saying that this is going to be bonkers for Mantis, but I'm honestly not buying it. I mean, yeah, it's great if you get this first turn and then Dockside 2nd turn. No doubt. But just running the risk of having a turn 1 flip that only has this and dockside is reason enough not to run it. Sure, the chances may be slim, but they are there. And the game you lose because of it may just be a single elim top 8 match.
Too risky, I'll take consistency over possible awesomness any day. The dockside/seaside combo is a Timmy idea. They want to get the most from as few holdings as possible. But realistically, it will make your deck less competitive in the long run.
As for it being rare, I couldn't agree more. It is a good card on it's own, and with EE holdings being up in the air, who knows? This may be a staple in EVERY deck (imagine border village isn't reprinted )

I don't think i would run dockside in mantis..., but at least for AV, it gets rid of the gold clunky feel. Actually it is 4 for 5 with guidance (unique combos ftw). For my limited testing in AV it was a must to have good gold turn one, so much so that i ran 6 holdings that cost 4 (3 border, 1 shrine, 2 Tsi) to try to get at least 5 (6-7 optimal) gold turn 1. Raises the chance of screwing yourself, but starting with 2 2g holdings is no good for a deck that depends on gold advantage.

Neither DGC or AV have room for this holding. It gets a solid 'meh' from me.

The only deck that i can imagine running Seadside this arc is Dragon Military Monks, since they can't use Tsi Mokotsu.

Crane wont run this this arc. Tsi Mokutsu or Dockside are better and running Dockside plus this would be clunky. At most its a 1 of and again Tsi Mokutsu is better.

Recruitment Officer is already a 4 for 3 dual bugged holding, and I'd run that over Border Village if it's reprinted.
