The Jungle Book
So after the success of crabs on elephants, I with the help of sleep on the drive back think we worked out the tweaks it needs to be more consistent and just scary.
Impregnnable fortress of the crab
Todori Sensei
holdings
3 jade pearl inn
3 shrine to hachiman
3 iron mine
3 colonial temple
2 house of prophecy
2 deep harbor
1 hida advisor
1 temple to tengen
1 bamboo harvesters exp
personalities
3 Hida Ayahi
3 Hida Reigoro
3 Hida toranosuke
3 Hiruma Moritoki
3 Kuni Tomokazu
1 Kuni Renyu
1 Hida Kisada
1 Nishoji, the puncher of fools
1 The shakash
1 Legulus
1 Zansho
Stratagies
3 back to the front
3 fall back
3 versatile army
3 reprisal
3 entrenched position
3 sudden movement
2 unsettling gathering
2 fall back
2 army like a tide
1 creating order
rings
Ring of Air
Ring of Earth
ring of Water
Ring of the Void
Followers
3 Elephant Cavalry
3 Heavy Infantry
3 Oriole imperial Vanguard
3 camel mounts
2 front rank troops
So the deck runs off cavalry movement and the threat of defense with conqueror. It played really well in Atlanta, but not getting tempo against lion kills me. the loss to scorpion will never happen again that was me as a player not the deck. its very resilient and can be pretty competitive.
ideas and thoughts are welcome.
cheers

Re: The Jungle Book
So you dropped commanders steed for Army Like a Tide. I prefer the steed cause it turns on your box but Army gives you a battle action (+1F!) and doesn't cost 4g so I see where you are coming from.
I don't much care for medium infantry in this build. It just gets shot. And I still don't care much for the armor (8g on an attachment that you can't use with your sensei) but the straighten is good in this build.
Wait... woah woah woah. No back to the front? That card needs to be in this deck. As a 3 of in my opinion. Big units in general are resilient to kill actions and bow actions (particularly this deck) but send home wrecks your day. Remember that Sudden Movement/Toranosuke doesn't "bring a guy back", it "replaces a guy". In a big unit deck, where you usually attack with 2 units, having one go home and stay home hurts mightily.

Another bow option could be pack tactics... considering your bodies are usually smaller...

He's running 6 power uniques, all but one 4+ force. And toranosuke is the only non-unique lower than 4f.

wow, back to the front is a 3 of in the deck I cant believe i missed typing that in here. sorry yeah that card really helped me in Atlanta.
Medium infantry was more a trial I think will probably come out for front rank troops its another 4f follower that is 7g but it has expendable. its worth a try.
Armor is another tester it is expensive and really it should be a 3rd camel mounts. Tireless straighten is good though.
Army like a tide is exactly what you said its not 4g gives me plus 1F so it helps more than over stacking a unit.
