Re: [FL]Border Keep(xp) & [FL]Bamboo Harvester(xp)
I've already commented about the new Bamboo Harvesters at the main site... I think it will change how the game will be played.
This is the first time I saw the new Border Keep though, and it just blows the new Bamboo Harvesters out of the water in terms of game changing.
EE will play completely different because of these two cards. No more BKing your provinces mid game... so if you get gold fucked turn 4, then you get gold fucked. BUT, the ability to mulligan cards from your hand is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. So many times I've held Retributions against control, or (now) strike quickly vs control, and just WISH they were any other card. The new BK will actually make situational meta fate side much more viable, since the only real drawback to most of them is that they eat a card slot vs bad matchups, and BK solves that issue. Cards like Proper Deference which sees very light play now (because it can only realistically fit in certain decks) would be LEAPS and BOUNDS better in the EE environment, if you could just drop 1-2 of them into the GY and search for more military-viable cards. BK exp basically means that you are playing with 37-39 cards in your deck, with the 1-3 that you dont "like" for any given matchup can change. This throws off lots of the math behind probability and actually makes decks better, more explosive. The chances of you seeing the cards you need will increase, as will your opponents. So the game should speed up (if only slightly). The BH change may slow down the game JUST a little since going 2nd you dont get it til turn 3, but being able to bow it to draw cards is so.fucking.good.
Jeez I cannot wait for EE.

Bamboo Harvesters(xp) will be a godsend for Decks that go second. I really can't see running the older versions over these.
We should be getting the new Imperial Herald any time now. People have already started receiving there copies.
I guess i'll be using my $100 Gift Certificate on the new Direct Order set.

Yeah, i found the certificate. It was in my Anthem Notepad, which oddly enough, the certificate is the exact dimensions as the notepad so i didn't notice it in there. Never did find the free gen-con admittance though.

btw guys, does this mean snakes coming back as a faction you think?
also, BH exp makes me want to play a clan that goes second, is first turn tempo worth more than an extra 2-3 fate cards? i don't know

I doubt it, pretty sure they will be a new foe related to naga society coming from other areas and probably why Panku's mat is a naga. Notice the look of the naga from the preview article, he doesn't look like the normal naga, he looks deteriorated and corrupted. Either way I suspect that we will be seeing more of Akasha soon.

there was a card called naga abomination, where the naga had a human body (i think) and snake head.
You're prob right, that there is an evil snake like faction incoming, BUT if that happens the Nagas will likely come back to face their old nemesis. I wasn't a big naga fan when they were a faction, but i like the lore behind them.

I'm in love with the border keep, but the bamboo harvesters has too big of a draw back (for lower honor clans at least).

How would this work? Could I take all four to a tourney and decide which ones I'll use before each match? I'm sure they will clarify but why not have some speculating.

The choice is made during deck construction like any other card.

Yes, but what is to stop you from just bringing all 4? Or using clear sleeves and putting both in each sleeve?
I mean, I guess in tournies where you need to have a decklist this will be something trackable... but in most cases it will be easy to choose before the match which you will want to use.

Currently Border Keep and Bamboo Harvesters are not included on deck list so I assuming that will be changed moving forward.
