Monk Kensai - since it sucks...
Since monk-kensai sucks I figure I'll build it in my off-time.

it doesn't "suck".
I think it's solid tier 3. Piloted by a good player, with good matchups all day, it could top 8. I don't see it winning any kotei's though and there are just some bad matchups for it.

For competitive play, its bad, just like enlightenment is bad. Which means I'll enjoy going 4-3 with it or the casual equivalent of that.

Agreed. You have to strike the right balance of weapons and kihos versus actions... And even then you need a god draw to kick it off. It's good in theory, but since it lacks the consistency of...oh I dunno...BREEDER (looks at the overflowing bandwagon)...no one really plays it.

I would like to point out that the Sarasota Kotei had one breeder deck, while there where 4 monk/kensai decks. The last 2 spider decks where oni fyi.

monk kensai looks very fun to play, which is appealing.
