2014 Kotei Gauntlet

So here is my analysis of the environment for the early koteis and the decks we need to test against.

-Crab- The Ashiguru ban hurts them as it was their best deck. Their best options are swarm and big guys, but those decks can't regain tempo from decks like Lion or Crane. I'm expecting crab attendance and performance to be poor. Swarm posted.

-Crane- Expect Crane to be extremely popular. They will be out in full force and dominating koteis. They can do Fallen Dueling, Honor, Scouts or Generic Military. If you are not confident against Crane, don't expect to do well. NO deck posted since Anthony has them covered.

-Dragon- Kensai/Dueling with/without Hojatsu looks really strong. Expect this to be a popular deck as it builds itself and isnt too hard to play.

-Lion- Always good at the start of an arc and usually popular. I'll be playing Lion at Atl.

-Mantis- With Ashiguru gone there only real option is a generic range attack deck. I don't expect much attendance from mantis so no deck posted.

-Phoenix- Down at the very bottom of the festering pit with Mantis and Spider. Corey has them covered so no deck.

-Scorpion- Yojimbos will be strong, but Fallen dueling will be THE deck to beat. Scorpion is going to do well unless everyone starts packing Purge of Fudo.

-Spider- After playing tons of games with spider i think they are in a bad spot. They don't have enough tools to steal tempo from opponents, especially Crane or Scorpion. Purge of Fudo is also a huge Slap in the face. I'm abandoning this ship for now.

-Unicorn- Cavalry is stronger than ever before. Unicorn is the only faction with a reliable blitz option and i think it will take home quite a few koteis.
