20f Sensei's

The new sensei are up on their repsective clan forums.

Unfortunately my prediction came true and spider got a dueling sensei. Sigh...

Lion got a duel themed sensei too as did scorpion. Tsulu sensei is complex, the mantis one is kind of neat. Chukage sensei is nice and the dragon got its magistrate theme. The crab sensei is really cool sir I don't know if it's better than just running tsujiken.

The crab sensei is amazing. Its my favorite by far.

Crab one is good, I like mine because i like playing military magistrates and its hinting at 2 more magistrates in the base set.

The base set should have at least 2 personalities for each theme, if not 3.

Unicorn magistrates, with open control and honor gain is just kind of weird.  We have 2 printed magistrates, would need a fair few more to make it worth running.  I'd play it though...

Yeah if the crab get 2 or 3 more kuni which I'm guessing they will and a few more earth spells, go Diego go sensei will be awesome. Oh and look we have a sensei that doesn't blank our box.

Crab will be a huge pita to play against with box straighten, hand attrition and other negation like tomakazu.

I agree Pat, i think the initial previews for  Unicorn magistrates are weird. I expect them to be a control oriented military deck with abysmally low force and poor force/gold ratios. It'll end up unplayable because you won't be able to take provinces, especially the 9ps ones. Just like Scorpion magistrates through most of CE.

My favorite sensei is actually lion, even though i hate dueling. The effect is extremely powerful and combined with the box and tactician, lion has the potential to amass a ton of force in opposed battles. That's all assuming that lion gets some reasonably costed tacticians.

In fact, all the sensei's look solid if you assume a decent lineup of themed personalities to support them. However, theme support in ivory 1 has been abysmal and most factions are better off playing no sensei/generic sensei (like tsujiken), and their best personalities, and totally ignoring their themes. I'd expect more of the same for ivory 2.
