Looks like dragon will be getting kensai as their first theme. I hope ivory reveals some better weapons, as I'm not enamoured of the current suit

Nm, previews weren't done being posted. So its kensai dueling. Looks fun.

Yeah well hopefully they learned their lessons in terms of the power level of weapons vs followers from last arc.  Thankfully the change to follower honor requirements helps alleviate some of those issues.

So far weapons have had significantly worse force/gold ratios and worse abilities. They need to make some decent 3 force weapons to make kensai capable of provinces. 2-3force personality with 2 2force weapons gets you nowhere.

not impressed at all. Its being sold as the theme they want but not sure of its competitiveness. They may begin with this theme under-powered because they are afraid of its strength.

I think the theme has potential but it desperately needs some actions. Too many low force blank guys and low force weapons with no actions.

Dragon is looking like a strong contender for the worst clan going into ivory.

I like this card a lot. Solid stats, nice art, and some butt hurt crane. This theme is looking solid

Yeah, the only thing he's missing is kensai, but that definitely would have pushed his GC up a notch (or two) and isn't necessary. I think he's loaded, and for the times that it's a fear 3 he's incredibly efficient. He's probably a "3-of" for the rest of the arc.

In my deck building (in my unopposed universe since I haven't played it against anyone) I am finding Kensai isn't necessary and neither is duelist. Guys with weapons seem to be just as useful, and if they are Kensai, Duelist or both, its just a major bonus. I have actually felt free enough to throw in some of my personalities who have none of these traits because I think they would do well and offer other perks to help me stabilize.

Kensai helps in that it lets you unload all your weapons. Without kensai you could end up in a situation where you can't attach all your weapons. As of now though, there are zero fate cards that are worth running that trigger off the kensai key word.
Duelist doesn't matter as much becuase its a bully dueling deck. Its nice as a contigency for high chi personalites though.

Round 3 previews look interesting... spell effects are on par with most stuff as opposed to the other way around.

Is sad that I almost want to make Tamori work over Kensai and monk now? Ugh this is amazing.
