[2012 Kotei] Orlando, Florida, USA: March 31st
Hey Folks,
Florida is back for the 3rd year in a Row we had a great time last year in Tampa. But this year we are bouncing back to the center of the state, and Slinging Cards in Orlando. CoolStuff Games has been gracious enough to let us Borrow their floor space on the 31st of March. Check out their website CoolStuff, INC. as they have L5R Singles, and can have them there on day of, for you last minute people. In 2010 this was an EPIC showdown between two of the Larger playgroups in the state, and I hope that we can see that level of competition again in 2012...

Man is that a question So the Original answer was yes... and I picked out the Art I wanted and started trying to contact the Artish (group) and after 2 months of Calls and emails from me with no Response.. I had given up. I pestered AEG and was told they sent an email on my behalf as well, but still nothing..
So as of the Writing of you post.. the answer had become No...
Until yesterday Where I Contacted the AEG Art Director(s) directly, plead my case, as he Thought the Concept was solid, and offered up the Art that I was wanting. I say that now as I sit here working on the Layout... I have two Weeks until Vegas, just just barely enough time with Shipping and All, but it looks like it'll work out nicely this year.. Florida is a short two weeks after that, so Fun fun fun
I'll be putting preview up in the near Future..

Awesome Frank. As always, you are the man and we really appreciate everything you've done (and continue to do) to ensure that FL has a thriving competitive scene. If there is anything we can do to help with anything, you know how to reach us.

your Groups are always great Fun, and I love the trip out.. Besides I get a couple days Quite time from the 5 Kids..
For me the best thing you can do is Get everyone out and Playing.. the Bonus is that it makes for a great event for everyone else too
The Storyline this year Rocks and the Game is Great, so it's a win win for all involved..

Prior to this year, we Cut to a top 4,8,16,32 etc based on the size of the event and Players Strength of Schedule.
This year we will cut to a Record, meaning that if you have the winning record needed you will make the Cut. Likely 5 wins and 2 losses or better. (6-1, 7-0)
there will be a Play off round that will decide who of all those people will make it further in the event.
There is a full description in the Floor Rules, here : http://www.l5r.com/images/EE-Floor-Rules.pdf

The new cut system is better if a bit more costly in time imo after experiencing it.

Agreed..
Also of Note..
If you all have been following the http://6thring.net stuff. I will have the Camera, and we will be doing it in FL as well. A random Feature match each round, a random Cut Match, and then the Finials.

I assume there will be an opt out for this? And will the cut be best 2 of 3?

Yep, I won't force anyone on camera that doesn't want on
Depending on time, Top 16 (if we need it), Top 8, Top 4, will be time depended.. and will be decided on site.valentine wrote:And will the cut be best 2 of 3?
The Simi-finials will likely be
The Finials will be.

So I just realized that Kolat edition (and therefore proxies) aren't legal for this event. >.< I don't suppose anyone has a copy of At Any Cost I could borrow for the tourney?

The ATL contingent has shrunk down to just me. Everyone else backed out last minute (as normal -_-). Not thrilled at the prospect of 150 in gas.
