Team Forgotten Bay Atlanta Kotei Primer!

Good afternoon everyone!  I just booked the hotel for Atlanta, and wanted to put together one of my *patent pending* Kotei Primers!

Event Restrictions: CoM, AM, GoC, and Ivory Legal.  Ivory Proxies Legal.  Exotic Farmlands and Well-Defended Farm are banned.

Honor Event Information: The honor event will consist of two stages. The honor event winner will be determined by playing a full game of L5R Love Letter, with four players (if you have not played Love Letter, it is awesome). To be one of those four players, you must present us with something artistic or creative or literary of your choice. Costume, short story, theme deck w/ writeup, poem, drawing, whatever. The judges will be the three members of the tourney staff (Chris Stevenson, Jay Earle, Mike Cook), to the extent that affects what you want to submit. Note that your submission must be something that you the tourney staff can look at/read/whatever at our convenience during the tournament, so something like performing a play or song is not going to work.
Additional Prize Support: In addition to the story prizes, there will be prizes (boxes, packs, rare sets, Love Letter) for the honor event, top of clan, bottom of clan, etc. There will, as usual, be packs handed out throughout the swiss rounds to encourage everyone to stick around and enjoy themselves. Note that, pursuant to changes in the floor rules, we will not be doing our usual top of clan after swiss; top of clan will be determined by final rankings after elims.

Times: We will be checking in on Friday (anytime after 3pm) and we will leave Sunday morning (before 10am)

Cars: 2 (Rich's SUV [seats 4 comfortably + Luggage] and My Car [Seats 2 Comfortably + Luggage])
Travel Time: Google Maps has it listed at 6hrs 43 minutes without traffic.  Since it will be a Friday (thus morning rush hour in Tampa, and afternoon rush hour in Atlanta) I say lets add at least an hour to that.  Then include 30 min for gas/lunch stop, and we get a time of 8hrs 15 min (roughly).
Travel Length: 470 Miles each way, which equates to 940 total miles driven.
Gas Rich's Car: Riches car averages 27 MPG on the interstate. Dividing 940 by 27 = 34.81 gallons of fuel for the trip.
Gas Corey's Car: My car averages about 33 MPG on the interstate.  Dividing 940 by 33 = 28.48 gallons of fuel for the trip.
Average Gas Price:  The average Gas Price for Georgia right now is $3.28 and for Florida it is $3.44.  The average between the two is $3.36 which will be our baseline "Price Per Gallon".

Individual Cost: $30 + Food.  This means you need to be able to cover the cost of admission into the Kotei, as well as the cost of food for Lunch and Dinner on Friday, Breakfast and Dinner Saturday, and Breakfast and Lunch Sunday.
Hotel Cost: $171.98, divided by 6 people = $28.66.
Gas Cost: To be fair to the drivers of each car, we will split the cost evenly among all 6 people going, instead of saying that whomever rides with me pays less/more and vice-versa.  To do this, I'm going to add the total cost of gas for both vehicles and then divide that number by 6.  For my car, 28.48 Gallons of Fuel required times $3.36 per gallon = $96.30.  For Rich's car, 34.81 Gallons of Fuel required times $3.36 per gallon = $116.98.  $96.30 (cost of gas in my car) plus $116.98 (cost of gas in Rich's car) = $213.28.  Divide that amount by 6 = $35.54. per person.
Total W/out Individual Cost:  $28.66 (Hotel) + $35.54 (Gas) = $64.20. (This is the amount that each of you owe to be able to go to the Kotei. We'll collect funds together and I'll split the gas money between Rich and I once I have everything)
Total Including Individual Cost: $64.20 + $30.00 + Cost of Food = $94.20 + Cost of Food. I would recommend budgeting around 130-150 for the whole trip.

I don't see where we are doing breakfast saturday morning...  just saying.  Might try to find something for the honor event...  hoo hmmm...

Pre-kotei breakfast is hugely important.

I get 27 highway.

It makes me all bubbly inside getting the gang together for a kotie adventure.
