-Now with more Swarm action!

Some changes to consider:

Contentious Terrain needs to come out, it never generates more than 1-2 force.
I think i also want to swap out Unsettling Gathering for Coward!.

-I can add Outnumbered, Lonely Battlefield, and Tairao to give me some force penalties, then add Meguro, Ryuko, Unholy Strike and Deliberations to add ranged/melee to take advantage of the penalties at the cost of a few bow actions like Tale of the Disgraced. The nice thing is that it removes presence and is harder to counter than bow actions. 

-I can take out the samurai in the deck and replace them with monks/shugenja. This would allow me to run Riot in the Second City, Palm Strike and Way of the World.  I would lose almost all my printed battle actions and increase my curve slightly as a trade off.

Thoughts?

Yep, very similar to the lion version, or really just about any ashigaru version, you're in clan support is good though, surprised zansho isn't in for the relevant action/cheap force.  (Oh right, spider hurhur)

I'm curious if the theory about it is correct though, early/mid-game fights hurt the deck a lot.

How do you feel about defensive grill?  I want to like the card but it feels to odd in its uses.

Early battles hopefully won't hurt this deck too bad. I have some game swinging actions like holding cells,  ninube shiho, and Okura is Released if my opponent decides to engage early. I should also be able to flood the board with a lot of bodies, even early in the game, forcing the opponent to burn a lot of actions.

I really like defensive grill, its great if you can use it early in the game and punish an attacker for resolving battles in the wrong order. Its potentially a huge swing as they might lose a guy and bounce at the other province. I might swap to 2x coward and 2x defensive grill.

It's not for every deck, but in my playtesting, "Holding Cells" has been GOLD every time it has been in my hand.

I don't think unsettling is that great in this deck. I would go with ring of earth and a x2 maybe Sudden Movement or Okura Unleashed depending on how you feel on the consistency of your fear 3 or 4 with whats his name out. I think your 40th dynasty card is A Dark audience rightnow but Riot is amazing in non samurai. Also it seems like you fed the ashigaru the leftover brains from celestial.

I was gonna say, you can tell just by the style of the deck that if it pulls the holdings it needs (2-3 of any of the force pump-based holdings) and sees enough of the followers (which it will), that it becomes consistently dumb force end game... 

This will be very similar to breeder, minus how deadly that deck was early in battle.

You can't fit temple of harmony in the deck?  I like it over jade pearl Inn if only because of it's synergy with the rest of the 2g scheme.

Jade Pearl is there because abundant farmlands is there along with deck thinning to get to riot and the personalities quickly. It plays by maximizing everything. I think the swarm approach is better and harder to deal with.

Shinomen marsh would go in first, but my main priority is to filter through to well-defended farms and more bodies, which the jade pearls help with. The deck has very few issues with gold do to the really low curve on the bodies and followers.
